AkzoNobel Opens New R&D Lab Dedicated to Low Cure Powder Coatings

A new research center which will develop pioneering products for the rapidly growing area of powderon wood has been opened by AkzoNobel (AKZA; AKZOY) at its site in Como, Italy. The new R&D facility – which features an application lab, process lab, and analytical and testing lab is dedicated to delivering low cure powder coatings for use on heat-sensitive substrates (such as MDF, plywood, thermoplastics and composites).

63 Million Dollar Acquisition from Akkim Kimya

Akkim Kimya, Turkey’s leading chemicals manufacturer, has added a new one to its strategic investments. Akkim, moving towards its growth targets with company acquisitions, incorporated USK Kimya for 63 million Dollars. The Competition Board is expected to approve the commitment in February and the transfer process is expected to be concluded by the end of the month.

Alternative Methods Used in Beneficiation of Feldspar Minerals

Feldspar is an aluminum silicate group mineral consisting of sodium, potassium, calcium and rarely barium, cesium and isomorphic composition of these minerals (Heyes et al., 2013; Zhang et al., 2018). It is one of the most abundant minerals in the world and constitutes approximately 60% of the earth’s crust (Vidyadhar et al., 2002). According to the report of United States Geological Survey, Turkey ranks first in the world with 7.500 million tons of feldspar production in 2019.
